We believe that curriculum should culminate in students being self-sufficient and capable of designing and building a software application from scratch. Our teaching approach gradually releases responsibility from the course materials onto the student using project-based learning. Students are motivated to learn real skills and topics because they can create increasingly impressive projects using real industry tools and technologies. This way, the "how does this topic relate to me" barrier that often impedes learning in other STEM topics is gently removed.
We believe that focused and goal-based gaming can be beneficial - especially in group settings. Students who are not interested in traditional sports can learn vital social-emotional learning (SEL) skills by participating in organized esports the right way. Our initial goal with Pathway Esports was to help schools build the right kind of gaming program.
Many students spend a lot of time gaming, but when a school can organize a proper and formal program, it ensures that students are gaming healthily. In addition, gaming can be a catalytic passion that helps a student explore different avenues of careers in technology. Many IT and software professionals today became interested in technology because they grew up playing video or online games.
Our goal is to capture this gaming interest and use it to explore different career paths like game and app development, web design, business management, leadership, broadcasting, graphic design, and others.
